Student Engagement at Mabel Park SHS

A Safe and Supportive Space to Thrive

At Mabel Park State High School, we believe students thrive when they feel safe, supported, and valued. Our Student Engagement Hub (S.E.H) is a dedicated, student-focused space where learners are empowered to flourish.

Our Team

The S.E.H is home to a multidisciplinary Student Engagement Team, leading the school's wellbeing and engagement initiatives.

Our team includes:

  • 4 Heads of Engagement – Years 7/8, 9, 10, and 11/12
  • 6 Deans of Students
  • Administration Officer and Attendance Team
  • Wellbeing Team – 3 Guidance Officers (Years 7/8, 9/10, and 11/12), 5 Youth Workers, and a School-Based Psychologist

 Our Vision

We are accountable, we are respectful, we show up, we deliver, and we represent S.E.H with pride and passion.

This vision drives everything we do—both in the way we work across the school and in the expectations we set for our students.

 How We Support Students

By building staff capacity and embedding a whole-school approach to wellbeing, culture, and engagement, the S.E.H helps students:

  • Form positive relationships
  • Develop a strong sense of belonging
  • Learn in a safe, supportive environment

 What We Do

We deliver support through:

  • Tiered intervention programs tailored to student needs
  • Attendance tracking and support to keep students engaged
  • Classroom and small group assistance to strengthen learning and behaviour
  • Family and community engagement to build strong partnerships
  • One-on-one student support for individualised help

 Our Commitment

The Student Engagement Hub works holistically to ensure every student is equipped for future success—through providing access to high-quality teaching, learning, and personal growth.
