Our school-based Psychologist is available Monday - Friday during the school term. Students wanting to access this service should first speak with their guidance officer, who can provide a referral if appropriate.
Our psychologist works with students experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns such as, depression, anxiety, stress, family issues, disordered eating behaviours, peer difficulties, etc and can provide short-term intervention (8-12 sessions). If it's determined the referral is appropriate and the student is consenting, the guidance officer will contact parents to seek their consent to complete the referral. Screening assessments for autism, ADHD and learning difficulties can also be completed by our psychologist. These assessments are not diagnostic but can indicate if diagnostic assessment by a paediatrician, psychiatrist or clinical psychologist is warranted.
Further information can be found on page 1 of the Consent for school psychology and social work services Information sheet.
